Baroque Still Life Cinemagraph Ideas

Art direction in any form is one of Drew’s specialties, so of course these type of style shoots are always fun. When we photograph still lifes we both gravitate towards the aesthetic inspiration of baroque paintings and the Flemish Vanitas. The opposing elements of water and fire both make for great cinemagraphic movement. This also marked the first time either of us had ever used a fire extinguisher, which turned out to be a great way to crate a dust effect. At least we didn't set the apartment ablaze!
